Dichroic glass
To produce dichroic glass many thin layers of metallic
oxides such as magnesium, titanium and silicon are placed on the surface of the
glass in a vacuum, high temperature furnace. The metallic oxides are vaporised
by an electron beam. The resulting colours are very vivid, metallic and change
according to the angle they are viewed from. They show an iridescence seen in Nature
in dragonfly wings, abalone shells and opal.
Blown glass
Our blown glass products are hand made. Each piece is unique, and they will show
slight differences even when they are made to match (for example a pair of
earrings, where the glass pieces slightly vary in size or bubbles in them),
adding to their charm.
